Accessibility Statement

At the Queens Hotel we aim to offer high levels of hospitality to all our guests, regardless of any permanent or temporary disability, medical condition or other specific requirement. This Access Statement is designed to give you the information you need to assess how effectively we can meet your particular needs.

Prior to Arrival

Reservations can be made by telephone or email.

The hotel is located approximately 0.5 miles from Paignton railway and bus stations. It is a level walk, but we can easily arrange a taxi for you on request. Wheelchair-suitable vehicles are available if necessary. Directions to the hotel can be found on the website.

Arrival

There is a designated disabled parking bay adjacent to the rear entrance in the car park and a ramp at the front of the hotel. The reception desk is 980 mm high. Assistance with luggage is always available, and this can be collected from/delivered to your car if required. The entrance hall floor is carpeted and all on one level. The car park has a slight incline up to the front of the Hotel.

Public Areas

The bar lounge and TV lounge are all on one level. The Restaurant is accessed via 5 steps however a stair lift is installed. Two lifts serve all floors, although some bedrooms are accessed up some steps; please let us know at the time of booking if you have any particular needs in this respect. Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s toilets are both located on the ground floor close to reception, as is the Disabled WC. There is nightly entertainment in the Bar Lounge. The hotel does not have a hearing loop installed.

The Swimming Pool is accessed by 3 steps with hand rails then a 4 step hand railed ladder allows access into the water.

Accommodation

The hotel has no bedrooms specifically designed for use by guests with impaired mobility; however our Staff are more than happy to discuss your particular requirements. Bedrooms vary in terms of shape and size however many will be suitable for guests with minor disabilities so do please feel free to call us and let our Reception team assist you.

General

All information such as menus, bedroom information and tariffs can be printed in larger fonts if so required. Service dogs are accepted at the hotel by prior arrangement. There is an “Aid to Living” shop in Paignton from where it is possible to hire a range of specialist equipment; we can provide their details on request.

We have tried to be accurate and as comprehensive as possible in the preparation of this Access Statement. All Staff are more than happy to assist in any way possible to ensure that you have a very enjoyable stay at the Queens Hotel.
